Cafe Brulot

A traditional New Orleans after dinner treat which entails strong coffee flamed with brandy and flavored with cloves and cinnamon.
Ingredients
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 12 whole cloves
- Peel of 2 oranges, cut into thin slivers
- Peel of 2 lemons, cut into thin slivers
- 6 sugar lumps
- 8 oz. brandy, warmed
- 2 oz. Curacao
- 1 quart strong coffee

Method
In chafing dish set over alcohol flame, mash the cinnamon, cloves, peel and sugar with a ladle. Add brandy and Curacao and stir together. Carefully ignite. Mix until sugar dissolved. Gradually add coffee and mix until flame flickers out.
