Carrot and Apple Smoothie

This smoothie combines vanilla ice cream, apple butter, carrot juice and apple cider, plus a little brandy and spice, in the blender.
 

Ingredients

  • Vanilla ice cream 1 1/2 cup
  • Apple butter, cold 1/4 cup
  • Carrot juice, cold 1/2 cup
  • Apple cider, cold 1/3 cup
  • Brandy 1 tbsp.
  • Ground cinnamon pinch
  • Ground allspice pinch
  • Reddi-Wip whipped cream
  • Cinnamon sticks 2
  • Grated nutmeg

Method

1. Put 2 champagne glasses in the freezer for 2-3 hours before serving. Put the first 7 ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 15-20 seconds until well blended. Pour smoothie into frosted glasses. 2. Garnish each glass with whipped cream and a long cinnamon stick. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

 

Notes: NOTE: Make sure most of your ingredients are very cold. It will ensure a smoother milkshake. I actually semi-freeze the carrot juice before adding it to the smoothie. Reddi-Wip is the canned whip cream that you find in the dairy section of your local supermarkets.
