This smoothie recipe blends banana with vanilla frozen yogurt, chocolate sauce, peanut butter and Kahlua. To make it healthier, it uses protein powder and soy milk.

  • Vanilla frozen yogurt 2 cups
  • Chocolate sauce, cold 1/3 cup
  • Protein powder 2 tbsp
  • Smooth peanut butter 4 tbsp.

Method

Place 3 champagne glasses in the freezer for 3-4 hours before serving. Combine 1 cup of the soy milk with remaining ingredients in a heavy duty blender. Pulse on high for 10 seconds, then add remaining soy milk and process for 35-40 more seconds until icy smooth. Serve in frosted champagne glasses, with a decorative straw and the whipped cream topping. Garnish with chocolate shavings.

Notes: NOTE 1: for a very cold smoothie, make sure the milk, khalua and peanut butter are cold. NOTE 2: The frozen yogurt used in this recipe is the commercial brand found in grocery stores, next to the ice cream and sorbets. You can throw a curve in this recipe if you would like by using chocolate sorbet, peanut butter frozen yogurt, or your favorite ice cream in place of the vanilla frozen yogurt. For a healthier version, you can omit the whipped cream topping and chocolate shavings.
