Method

Bring hibiscus to a boil in the water for approximately 1 hour, until the hibiscus leaves are pinkish in color. Stir in sugar, let dissolve. Strain petals from tea and refrigerate. Perfect for picnics or barbeques or for a delightful, colorful, Christmas drink.

Notes: 1. Hibiscus is large beautiful flowered plant. If you are a gardener at heart, you can grow these flowers right in your back yard and dry the petals up to use for the tea. 2. Hibiscus petals can be found at your nearest international market or health foods store. 3. May be served hot as well for those cold winter days. 4. Decrease amount of sugar in your bulk mixture, and allow your guests to sweeten as they please. 5. Sugar substitute should be added at time of drinking, since they usually do not have the same melting point as sugar and will not take to the boiling mixture as well. (unless a cooking sugar substitute)

Number of Servings: 8 to 10
