Mango Mandarin Kiss

Mango and mandarin--two tropical flavors combined in a cook and refreshingly light drink.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup frozen mango pieces
- 1/2 cup drained mandarin orange segments, frozen (reserve juice)
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice (optional)
- 3 cups chilled ginger ale (asti spumante or moscato could be used to make an alcoholic drink)
- 4 teaspoons grenadine
- 4 fresh orange wedges

Method
In a blender, puree the mango, mandarin segments, and mandarin juice or syrup until smooth. If necessary, add a bit of orange juice to the puree to achieve the correct consistency. Pour into a pitcher, stir in ginger ale or champagne, and divide equally among 4-6 glasses. Top each drink with a teaspoon of grenadine. Garnish with an orange wedge.
Notes: When fresh mangoes are in season, I buy them by the dozen and try to find ways to use them for all kinds of dishes.
