Fresh apples are pureed and sieved, then combined with homemade lemonade, to make this refreshing beverage.
In a small saucepan, combine sugar and the 1 cup of water. Bring just to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Cover, cool and refrigerate until chilled. To serve, puree apples in a blender or food processor until smooth. Strain through a fine sieve. In a pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice, the 5 cups chilled water, and the strained apple puree. Serve with an apple wedge.

Around our home, lemonade is loved year-round. But I love to make a pitcher of this refreshing and unique version to celebrate the end of summer ...it's always a hit!
