Ultimate Hot Chocoalte

Dark or semisweet chocolate is heated with whole milk, poured into mugs, topped with sweetened whipped cream & sprinkled with ground red pepper.
 

Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate
  • 2 tsp (unsalted) butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • Cayenne pepper

Method

Melt dark chocolate, butter, and vanilla in a double boiler or heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Gradually add milk. Do not boil. Combine whipping cream and sugar in a bowl. Beat until soft peaks form. Divide chocolate milk mixture into four mugs. Top with a heaping spoonful of whipped cream and a dash of cayenne pepper.
