These delicious and refreshing cocktails are made with frozen chunks of watermelon, whirled in the blender with a lime-flavored syrup, tequilla and orange liqueur.

  • Servings: 4

Ingredients:

4 cups Seedless Watermelon Cut In 1" Cubes & Frozen
1 Lime, zested and juiced
½ cup Water
½ cup Sugar
3 oz Tequilla
2 oz Triple Sec or Cointreau, orange liqueur
Pinch of Sea Salt
Optional Garnishes:
Sugar or Sea Salt, for dusting rims
Lime Wedges
Cube of Frozen Watermelon On a Skewer or Toothpick

Directions:

Lime-flavored simple syrup for 4:

Place lime zest, water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes. Turn off heat and strain into a container. Cool; store in refrigerator, covered, up to 2 weeks.

Place all the ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Dip 4 smaller margarita glass rims in water then either in sugar or salt, depending on your palate. Serve drinks immediately with optional lime wedges and frozen watermelon skewers.

Helpful Tips:

During summertime, I always keeps bags of frozen watermelon cubes in my freezer. I also make a large batch of the lime-flavored simple syrup to have on hand as well; use 1/2 cup syrup for 4 drinks.
