Frozen white grape juice concentrate forms the basis for this Sangria. Lemon and orange slices plus pineapple and mango chunks are the fruit that's used, and lemon-lime carbonated beverage gives sparkle.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (12.5 ounces) frozen white grape juice concentrate
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large lemon, thinly sliced, divided
  • 1 large orange, thinly sliced, divided
  • 1 fresh Pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into chunks, divided
  • 2 ripe mangos, peeled and cut into bite size pieces
  • Seven-up, chilled
  • Ice cubes

Method

Place the white grape juice concentrate into a large glass pitcher and let it defrost. Then add sugar, 2/3 of the lemon slices, 2/3 of the orange slices, 2/3 of the pineapple chunks, and the mango pieces. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Cover and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, about 6 hours, stirring occasionally. Just before serving add Seven-Up to taste. In tall glasses, alternate putting in ice cubes and lemon slices, orange slice, and pineapple chunks. Pour the sangria over mixture in glass.

Notes: If you desire this to be an alcoholic drink, substitute 25 fluid ounces of white dry wine instead of the white grape juice concentrate. I buy the Gold Pineapple in the supermarket already peeled and cored in the produce department.

Number of Servings: 6
